Acceptable Use Policy

Effective April 27, 2026

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") applies to everyone who uses AI CiteRank (the "Service"), operated by BrandBoard. It is part of our Terms of Service. Violations may result in warning, suspension, or termination of your account without refund.

1. Scan permission

  • Only scan URLs you own or have explicit permission to analyze, or that are publicly accessible without authentication.
  • Do not submit URLs behind login walls, intranets, staging environments, or pages otherwise restricted from public access.
  • Respect robots.txt directives and rate-limiting on third-party sites.

2. Prohibited content & conduct

You may not use the Service to process, generate, or distribute:

  • Illegal content under applicable law.
  • Content that infringes intellectual property, trade secrets, or privacy rights.
  • Doxing, harassment, threats, hate speech, or sexual content involving minors.
  • Malware, phishing material, or anything designed to harm users or systems.
  • Spam, deceptive SEO/AEO manipulation aimed at defrauding users or platforms.

3. Platform integrity

  • Do not reverse-engineer, decompile, scrape, or attempt to extract source code, scoring algorithms, or proprietary data from the Service.
  • Do not resell, sublicense, or white-label the Service without a written agreement.
  • Do not circumvent rate limits, scan quotas, or paywalls. Multi-accounting to evade quotas is prohibited.
  • Do not share account credentials or API tokens outside your organization.
  • Do not generate load that disrupts the Service for other users.

4. Honest representation

Do not misrepresent AI CiteRank scores, reports, or recommendations as endorsements, certifications, or guarantees by BrandBoard, third-party AI systems (ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, etc.), or any search engine. Scores are heuristic estimates.

5. Reporting abuse

If you believe someone is misusing the Service or that content processed by the Service violates this AUP or your rights, email legal@brandboard.me with details. We investigate every report.

6. Enforcement

We typically follow a warning → suspension → termination escalation, but for severe or willful violations (illegal content, security attacks, fraud) we may suspend or terminate immediately and without notice. Termination for AUP violations does not entitle you to a refund of fees paid. We may also report unlawful activity to the appropriate authorities.

7. Changes

We may update this AUP as the Service evolves. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-product notice at least 14 days before they take effect.
